Celebrity

The celebrity I admire most is a Chinese engineer called Liang si Cheng. During his whole life, he tried to organize the history of Chinese traditional building and wrote a book about the gradual developemnt of Chinese engineering. He is the first person in Chinese history who wrote a book about the history of Chines building. He is also a talented engineering who designed the famous revolutionary monument in the Tian an Men Square. For me , he is not merely a person who owned great talent but also a people who dare to question the authority. After the Civil War, all the intellecual recieved great attack beacuase Chinese government afraid of the cacophonies of idea in China. Also, the Chinese governement called for a "absolute revolution". Therefore,they decided to destory all the "old" things, including books, buildings and idea. Many precious buildings encoutered the danger of being destory. In order to prevent the treausure of the Chinese history, Liang si Cheng, a man with great courage, stood up and brided the City manager of the Capital, Beijin, for his irrational plan. Although, Liangsi Cheng did not recieved the result he desired. He still saved many precious building from vanishing.Also Liangsi Cheng is very libral. During the World War II, Liang si Cheng once wrote al etter to American government for their decision to bombard Japan.

As a man with such great courage and brilliant mind, his devotion to the career not only benefit the Chinese people but also all human beings. His research in design provides great sources for the Asian engineering study and inspirational idea for all the designers. As a student in Princeton and Harvard, he also tried to combine the western idea and traditional chinese view about design together. He is a real great man.
